AI Smart Locks for Hotels and Apartments: Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia Project Checklist

The project buyer's checklist

AI smart locks for hotels and apartments are bought as a project, not as loose hardware. A distributor or property operator in Singapore, Indonesia or Malaysia has to match the lock to the door, the credential model, the management platform, the PMS or apartment workflow, the installer capability and the after-sales plan. If any one of these is skipped, the first batch may look fine but the rollout becomes expensive.

Door fit comes first

Before discussing app features, collect the door type, thickness, backset, mortise dimensions, opening direction and photos of the existing lock body. Hotel and apartment buildings often contain more than one door type. A good AI smart lock supplier should reject incomplete door data rather than push a sample that cannot scale.

Platform and credential model

Hotels may need PMS integration, card issuing, staff permissions and emergency access. Apartments may need mobile credentials, temporary access, tenant turnover and multi-site management. SMB offices may care about attendance and visitor access. The same lock body can fail commercially if the permission workflow is wrong.

Regional rollout planning

Singapore projects often require cleaner compliance and documentation. Indonesia and Malaysia distributors need installation SOP, spare units, training and channel-ready sales material. For Myanmar, simplify the first deployment: fewer models, clearer door measurement, basic management flow and a practical support path.

Questions for the supplier

Ask which door data must be measured, what PMS or platform integrations are supported, how bulk permissions are managed, what happens when a phone or card is lost, what spare parts are recommended and which project evidence can be shown. The answer should be a deployment plan, not only a catalog.

Evidence boundary: this article is a planning guide. Final model selection must follow the latest datasheets, local regulations, building requirements and project quotation.
